I'm trying to remember the name of a book that I read as (maybe) a fifth grader in the late 80s. It's a fantasy story where the main character is on a quest to find a talisman that turns out to be a girl named Talisman. There are dragons, both flying dragons and ones that live in the ground that burrow or swim in the earth, they're not part of the group on the quest, but it's possible that they are ridden at some point during the story.
This is totally driving me crazy.
