Poem about a hangman's children?

Sep 14, 2012 21:57

In high school, I memorized and performed a poem about a hangman and his children. All I can remember of it now was that it started somewhere along the lines of "Would a hangman teach his children knots?" or something like that. There was also a question about whether he would perform rope tricks for them, and if they would jump rope with his...noose? There may also have been something about braiding hair.

I've tried googling everything that I can remember, but I've yet to unearth this thing. I'm positive that it existed, and I thought it would be so easy to find again, but apparently not.

Help? :)
