Lord of the Rings Music?

What would you call Pippin's song, exactly? At first I thought it was Celtic music, but I've been looking for more music like it and I can't really find anything in that particular vein.

Same goes for the dwarves' song from the trailer for The Hobbit, what kind of music is it? (And more importantly, where can I find more like it?)

Are these types of music in any way based on the real world? Or are they completely unique to the Lord of the Rings movies?
