Big ol' bug!
Many years ago, when I used to walk my sister home from school, we would see these ENORMOUS, freaky bugs. I have no idea what they were, but I'd like to find out!
-We live in a desert climate--southern Arizona, to be precise--so it would be a bug that could live there.
-They were some species of grasshopper.
-They were HUGE--We're talking about the size of the palm of your hand; maybe bigger if you're got tiny hands.
-They were very dark--black, really--with vibrant green and red-orange marks on their heads and wings. Extremely striking, which has helped me to remember them vividly.
-They were usually found in large clusters.
Any idea what they were?
