Hi, this is a long shot. I grew up living near the Canadian border in the late 70's/all of the 80's, and we had very few TV channels -- one was CTV/ATV and one was some variant of CBC. Not sure which channel this ad was on, but my mom and I used to laugh at it, a little. It was basically about how girls can grow up and do anything they want to do. I remember some of the jingle:
Voices from the past are calling - break out from the crowd!
They gave a lot to make things better; now you have a chance to make them proud.
...I, can, do anything, I can go anywhere. We've got choices.
We've got choices!
It was those last two lines that I found amusing. Basically, the teenage girls didn't have a clue what they wanted, and saying "We've got choices!" over and over wasn't really helping them figure it out.
Anyway, I am having no luck googling it. Does anyone know which organization sponsored it, or which Canadian channel it was on? Youtube doesn't seem to have it but a video would be super special awesome. A friend of mine just posted links to The Raccoons and one of those Canadian history ads (the one about basketball), and I can't let him show me up.
