It was quite a few years ago; a movie with someone on the run, being pursued through the wilderness by what I think were native americans, with strong allusions that they were shapeshifters or shamans of some sort.
I might have been a white woman and her child but I might be getting it confused with something else, and there may or may not have been a cowboy-type archetype in there somewere. I seem to remember it having 'mountain' in the name; I remember seeing Cold Mountain sparked the memory again, but perhaps that's confused my memory a bit (bringing in the mother/child combo).
