1980s children's tv

I've asked about this one before but no luck. Children's 80s cartoon - a human kid encounters some sort of problem, goes to sleep, wishes they could overcome problem, perhaps a falling star is shown? and the kid enters a magical world with cute human-like but cuddly creatures. His / her adventure in the parallel, magical world will help him / her overcome the irl problem. There was always a moral lesson at the end. It must've been quite a long series because I remember watching quite a few of them. Oh and it's definetely not Dream Stone

Please don't direct me to 80s tv sites, I've probably been to them all and painstakingly clicked on a gazzilion links and still no luck.Hopefully, the above description will jog someone's memory?
