I bought this from this lady at my temple, and she didn't tell me what it was, but I decided to by it anyway. It was only five dollars. ahaha
My mother believes it's an old desk set, but what are all the little spaces for?

The lid screws off, and it looks something like a teapot with no spout.

It's all made of metal, and has four little metal plates. And the the little handles appear to be dragons.
Any ideas?
