I saw a clip of a movie (or TV show) years ago on either CBC or BBC. A girl has a stuffed rabbit or a stuffed dog (probably a rabbit though), and she imagined that it was real or something. There was probably a boy who made fun of her for it, maybe took the stuffed animal and threw it around?
She was a runner as well. At one point in the movie, she is running a race--a big important race, and something is going on elsewhere in her life I think. But she still runs it, and when she starts to slow down, suddenly the stuffed rabbit appears, jumping around and encouraging her. I think he was a cartoon. She finishes the race, but collapses/passes out, so the coach has to rub her legs/calves to maybe help the blood flow and get rid of lactic acid? He calls the boy over and he rubs the other leg: he's worried and scared for her (maybe he has a crush?). She opens her eyes and tells him that if he ever tells anyone about this (touching her legs or maybe the rabbit?) she wil kill him/come after him/something.
This is all I remember. The girl was probably 14-17, explaining why it was so weird that she had an imaginary friend. Part of me thinks someone (her mother?) had just died, but I could be confusing that with another girl altogether.
