So I've been really into old commercials lately, and I remembered a commercial/music video/ad that aired on Cartoon Network (in the US) in about, oh, 1998? 1999? Right around when the Scooby-Doo craze hit and CN took him up as their mascot. I think I used to see it frequently in and around the Toonami block, and then months later during the late night/early morning run.
The video featured Scooby-Doo (Which I don't even like! The video was that cool.) during an episode (maybe multiple episodes) that involved some tiki themed stuff and the whole gang dancing to some weird record. A funky song had been mixed up to go over the footage, along with snippets of dialogue, often repeated with the footage flipped in several directions. This sometimes aired instead of commercials on Cartoon Network and would sometimes be followed by the Japanese Speed Racer opening.
I've searched YouTube for several variations of 'scooby-doo' 'cartoon network' and 'music video', and while I ended up with a site for the 'Groovies' they used to air, this one was not among them.
Does anyone remember it? Know what the song was? Have a copy/link?
I can't even remember if I liked the song, only that I loved the video.
Thanks guys!
