I'm looking for an X-files fanfic from back in the day. It would be awesome if someone besides me remembered this fic!!
It's a post colonization fic, and Scully lives with some other humans in what is like a...human holding center type thing run by the aliens. She is given a bracelet and 24 hours of freedom outside the center's walls. If she doesn't return in 24 hours to have them remove the bracelet, it explodes and she will die.
She takes off and meets Mulder, who has not been captured. He has this device that will unlock the braclet, but only if done at a certain time and very carefully. So they take off, moving past the point of no return and he tries the device.
I don't want to give away the ending -- I just hope someone else knows what I'm talking about!! :)
