I can't say anything for sure, but looking at his notes? It looks like Rex tried to go easy on her with the nanomites. So... if she has literally no other friends, then he might be your guy.

Look, I know Rex can make a pretty good case for himself sometimes, but he really does not see the world right.

If he was in on this, it wasn't him targeting you, or trying to sabotage Amanda. He probably thought that he was doing her a favor.

I've let him assist maybe three or four wardens with science projects on board. All it'd take would be one of them letting him dissect something and he could have passed it on to her.

But I cleared his room of that stuff when he pulled the Nanomites thing, so if it was him, then she must have got it off him before then.

I have no idea how long she's had it in her shoe. I didn't think to look there.

...You know, it's not a big deal. If it's Rex, it's Rex, and there's nothing we can do about the how or why now.
