You know, I'm used to keeping a journal. Even if it was only a few lines written about my observations from the day, even if only to refer to a certain page in my field notebook, I wrote in one daily before I went to sleep

Why did you keep a journal in the first place?

I'd like to pretend there's a very deep and lovely reason for it, but the truth of the matter is I was hoping to publish it one day, a la Dian Fossey.

That's a good enough reason. If you added some train wrecks and explosions, I'm sure it would sell.

What about lion attacks and dinosaurs?

Highly recommended. Put them in as well. And maybe even a spaceship shaped like a ship.

What about vampires? I think any good set of memoirs could make good use of vampires.

That's true. You should date one, at least for a bit. And then stake him or something.

Mm. I think I'll pass on that one. Necking with a human is one thing. Necking with a vampire could land me in the infirmary.

That's true. They have no self control, right?

Oh, I'm not saying they have no self-control. But why put the temptation there?

In all seriousness, don't the vampires around here attack people sometimes? Should I be avoiding them or something?

Honestly, I'd say the vampires attack people just as often as any other inmate.

I guess so. And I haven't heard of any vampire attacks, so they must be pretty well contained.
