oh i am fortune's fool...
a few years back, my boy and i played a really cruel april fool's joke on our friends. basically, we went to the club on march 31st and people would forget that the next day is april fools. we staged a huge fight after we ate at denny's, (which made for a very uncomfortable ride for the people carpooling with me), and continued the fight at my house afterward. people thought we were so serious. greg even came by in the middle of the night just to make sure things were ok.
so last night after the meeting, i tried to take off in my car only to hear...
thwump, thwump, thwump, thwump.
DAMMIT... a flat.
now i would have easily have changed to the spare tire,... if it wasn't already using it.
so i just walked back to the studio where darwin was about to take off... and i just said, 'take me home. i'll get the car tomorrow.'
so i woke up relatively early to make the proper phone calls to my supervisors telling them i may be either really late, or not show up at all. texted my pop to let him know what's up. we both drive BACK to otay with a spare tire in tow, only to find out that the spare tire he brought, didn't fit. so we had to leave my car, again, to get the two tires replaced... then come back to get the next two. after driving by THREE different tire places, we settled for discount tire company. after we signed the paperwork, they tell us they DIDN'T have the cheaper tires we wanted.
but alas, they offered to give us the more expensive tire for the same price.
and like THAT... bam, there goes the tax return.
i believe i paid my debt to the april fools karma gods.
