mixing genres
i remember being introduced to The Roots in '93. Seen them a few times... the last of which was probably one of the best shows i have EVER seen. ?uestlove, the drummer from the roots, put on this crazy 5 minute solo where it was just simply astounding.
i remember being introduced to The Aquabats in '95 (or was it '96?). they put on one of the most entertaning shows i've witnessed. they had everything from security with luchadore masks, and bad guys that chased the band as they leaped into the water to awaiting boats. travis barker, the drummer for the aquabats, eventually went on to join blink 182. seen them perform a few times too. and travis is definitely a pro percussionist.
seeing them both together is nuts.
