A Multitopical Post...

Well, my weekend was good. I know it was almost a week ago, but whatever. You’re still gonna read about it. I didn’t end up recording because Aaron wasn’t really in the recording mood and to be honest I wasn’t really either. I haven’t really fine tuned the sequence of things for that song. Plus it doesn’t have a title yet, and you can’t record without a title. So I downloaded my taxes instead and got to know Mike-the-turbo-tax-tech-support-guy a little bit. He started the conversation slightly unprofessional in my opinion, asking ME why I couldn’t get my return to print like he was annoyed with the fact that it didn’t work. Well, so was I! “I don’t know, that’s why I’m calling…” I said while giving Aaron a look of pissedoffedness. So then I had to make the choice, I either start being a jerk back to this guy (because to that I point I was being polite with my answers) or I try to diffuse the situation and make it more pleasant. So while I was waiting for something to download and Mike and I were sitting there listening to each other breath, I said, “What was your name again?” “Mike” “Mike, how’s it going tonight?” as if to say, “Lets not fight, lets be friends”. He obliged and we were buds for a few minutes while I was waiting for my stuff to download. It was kind of fun. Partly because I got him to sound like a normal person instead of some stuck up computer nazi and Aaron and Adam were making jokes about what I was telling him in the background and I was trying to keep from laughing.
The rest of the weekend I spent with my family. Friday I got my haircut, which felt good. That night we surprised my dad for his birthday and he was like, “What? Are we really doing this?” His real birthday isn’t until next week. But we ate dinner out on the deck and then I don’t remember what we did. Hmm. Well, Saturday morning we got our easter baskets (yes, I am way too old for Easter baskets and I’m going to protest next year) because Travis and Becci were leaving to go see her parents for Easter. Then Joel and I helped Grandma set up for dinner on Sunday, then helped dad do some stuff in the yard. Then mom, dad, Joel and I went miniature golfing and I lost to my mom by 1 point. I didn’t even realize she was that close because Joel and were being more competitive towards each other and he lost to me by like 9 or something. Then we went to Blockbuster to decided to go home and watch Joel’s burn of Walk The Line. Great movie. I enjoyed it. But that’s just my type of movie. I like biographies. Sunday we went to the grandparents’ for dinner then I left to drive home. That was the weekend.

So I’ve had to poop a lot lately. Lately being the past couple of weeks. I don’t know why. I’ve heard of an overactive bladder, but is there such thing as an overactive intestine? Its like my digestive tract is imitating Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber when he poisons the bad guy in the restaurant… “Out with the bad! In with the good! Out with the bad! In with the good!” … As a result of my curiosity, I did a Google search: “overactive intestine”. The first link was to a site talking about Irritable Bowel Syndrome, commonly known as IBS. At first I was like, ooh, maybe that’s it. As I read on I decided (and hoped) that it wasn’t as I have not been experiencing the constant twisting and untwisting of my intestines that feels “as though they’re being rung out like a dishrag” like IBS sufferer Mike Hoffman of West Palm Beach, FL, or the knife like pain that “doubles you over” like that experienced by IBS sufferer Jefferey Roberts of Hallandale, FL. However, it says that the onset of IBS is usually in late adolescence or early adulthood. Should I be worried? I guess I’ll find out sooner or later. The good news is that IBS does not lead to other more serious diseases or surgeries. But you do have to live with oh-so-sudden urge to crap your pants for the rest of your life. Kind of sucky.

I woke up this morning and my arms were extremely sore. More so than they ever have been before. The reason? Joel is coming to stay with me this summer and I decided yesterday morning that I was going to start getting in shape so I can go workout with him. How did I do that? 100 good old pushups. I haven’t worked out in over two years. My upper body is not used to anything harder than strumming my guitar and resting on my desk as I type on the keyboard and click my mouse. My arms started to resist around pushup number 45. I was not able to do them all at once, but I pushed myself to get them done. So all day yesterday I felt fine, other than a minor amount of soreness, which is to be expected. But as I said, this morning I woke up and it hurt to flex my arm. My triceps were cramped up and did not want to stretch out. Do you know how hard it is to stretch out your triceps? Think about your daily activities. For the most part, your triceps are flexed all day long. Thus the cramps. I worked out in the morning, got the blood pumping in there and held my triceps in a flexed position all day without stretching. So my breakfast this morning consisted of two bananas. I figured I could use the extra K.

I was driving home last night and as I was getting close to one of my turns I sneezed a couple of times. Violent sneezes. I ran off the road and killed two deer and an innocent family of opossums. Ok, not really, but the sneezes were HUGE. Then as any normal person would, I looked in my rearview mirror to see if the person behind me noticed. Is it wrong to sneeze and something to be embarrassed about? No, I’m just paranoid. When I looked I saw that the girl in the car behind me seemed to be staring. So I stuck my head out the window, looked backwards, totally disregarded the fact that I was in control of a vehicle traveling 40 mph with traffic slowing in front of me, and yelled, “Hey Sally Staresalot! Haven’t you ever seen someone sneeze before?!!” No not really. But I was like, “What the heck is this girl staring at?” So then she took the same turn as me and was staying right on my tail. I dare say dangerously close. Then she took the next turn, which is a short little road. As I was coming to a stop I looked back and she wasn’t slowing very fast, so I kind of rolled through the stop (no one was there) and proceeded to turn as usual. Then I hear a horn honk…HONK!! So I look back and the girl is smiling and waving like I’m supposed to recognize her. I had no idea who it was, so I just waved to make her feel better and kept going. She continued to follow, only after the next turn I noticed that she had pulled down her sun visor…the sun was to our backs…and quickly went straight at my next turn without looking to the side. “Hey McFly, I think you got the wrong car!”

Last night was my first church softball game of the season. We had a TON of people come out to play. They put me in right field because they don’t know how sweet I am. But I was ok with it because the guys playing left and left center were even more sweet (if that’s possible). I only had one ball hit to me and I caught it to end the inning. The next inning they switched the line up and I was on the bench. Oh well, I’m sure less people will show up later in the season. I just wish we played a double header instead of a single game, it kind of gets you warmed up and then you’re done. I had fun though. I love softball.
