le sigh.
Here you go Katie Wills: (I don't know how to do the cut thing to get this out of the way for the people who don't really care, so you guys can just scroll like maniacs if you want)
You shall put your music player on shuffle.
2. You shall press forward for each question.
3. You shall use the song title as the answer to the question even if it doesn't make sense. NO CHEATING!
4. You shall tag 5 people and rain hell upon humanity. (I think I will skip this part)
5. You shall give your own comments on how it relates to the questions.
How are you feeling today?
walking with a ghost, tegan and sara (sooooo over t&s but i'll just go with it since it sounds deep and moody)
Will you get far in life?
a change is gonna come, sam cooke (ONE OF MY TOP FIVE SONGS OF ALL TIME. although it's probably safe to say that i will never have to deal with being segregated. but still.)
How do your friends see you?
broom people, mountain goats (...as a lovelorn packrat/recluse?)
What is your best friend's theme song?
action/adventure, andrew bird (i can see this, kind of.)
What is the story of your life?
chelsea girls, nico (ha. coked out in a hotel is. so. (not) accurate.)
What is high school like?
fly around my pretty little miss, built to spill (ahahahahahahahahahah. yeah.)
How can you get ahead in life?
that teenage feeling, neko case (actually this song is kind of about the exact opposite of that. so it works.)
What is the best thing about your friends?
groovallegiance, funkadelic (omg this game knows me)
What is in store for this weekend?
some candy talking, jesus and mary chain (um.)
How is your life going?
o come o come immanuel, sufjan stevens (seasonally appropriate!)
What song will they play at your funeral?
at the dept. of forgotten songs, jens lekman (the fact that this came up is the saddest thing that has ever happened to me. just listen to the song and imagine it at a funeral, anybody's. you'll probably cry.)
What do your friends really think of you?
california one/youth and beauty brigade, decemberists (that i have hella library debt)
Do people secretly lust after you?
maria, sound of music soundtrack (THIS IS SUNG BY NUNS HOW TYPICAL. the song about lust is a nun song. shit.)
How can I make myself happy?
astair, matt costa (by being sensitive and soft-voiced and singing pretty songs)
What should you do with your life?
don't call me whitney bobby, islands (a line in this song goes, "fuck what you heard, you were lied to")
Will you ever have children?
streets of fire, the new pornographers (I LOVE THIS SONG SO, SO MUCH. children/no children, i don't really know, i just love it.)

ANYWAY!
It's pretty late. Here are a few key points about my life right now:
1. I'm probably going to Paris for two weeks in the summer and--fingers majorly, tightly crossed on this one--maybe Calcutta for 10 weeks (omg.) in the fall. I also get to go to this research conference thing in Salisbury, Maryland (WOO HOO! but not really?) in April.
2. I love art class and I never want it to be over.
3. Yesterday I was sitting at a table in the business school working on my Liz Taylor newspaper portrait (maybe I'll post a scan or something when I'm done, if I can summon that much technological prowess) and a very distressed looking Asian lady came and asked if she could share my table since there were none left. I said yes, and she sat down and ate soup and a roll while I sketched and it was just really nice and simple. Reminded me of that line in "When Harry Met Sally" about how it's refreshing to be able to sit with someone and not have to talk.
4. I am so irrationally frustrated with this Hollywood writer's strike thing that's going on. They're cheating me out of the Office season I've been waiting for since I started watching the show THREE YEARS AGO. DON'T THEY KNOW.
5. We finally got sofas (for free!) a couple weeks ago. So we're not living like sad nomads anymore!
Alright. Goodnight...moon.
