Sorry I haven't posted here in a while. Honestly, I'm a little embarrassed of my old posts here. Younger me is kind of immature and dumb, and I don't really like dumb immature people much.
Been continuing to play Last Spectre. Still getting the sense of self-aware weirdness from it. The player characters acknowledge how weird some of the NPCs are. There is a museum director who talks in nothing but cat noises. I'm on the chapter where Emmy is the POV character instead of Layton. She's a pretty fun character. Usually I don't like Action!KungFoo!Grrrls, but Emmy manages to play the trope of "athletic, tomboyish but conventionally attractive girl/woman" in a non-obnoxious manner.
Watched the Tintin movie. It was actually pretty enjoyable, both story and aesthetics. I wonder how they managed to so deftly avoid the uncanny valley...
I've been wanting to get into Gegege no Kitaro, but outside of Hakaba Kitaro (which claims to be a direct adaptation of the much darker original manga, but certain aspects of it (like the Neko arc) seem suspicious to me), nobody seems interested in translating any of the anime series in full, or in scanlating the manga. Since most of the anime series outside of Hakaba Kitaro seem to be continuations of each other, I think it would be nice to watch the b&w 60's anime that was the earliest anime version. Of course, nobody would ever do that, just like nobody wants to sub The Amazing Three to make up for the 60's dub of it that we lost.
I'm taking an art class for my interom class. It's pretty fun.
