Ok, this is not becoming a political blog, I promise. But I just watched Bobby Jindal talk for the last 20 minutes, and while there were plenty of things that made me yell at the TV, there was one thing sent me spiraling into a rage blackout.

"Democratic leaders in Washington place their hope in the federal government. We place our hope in you -- the American people."

Ok, so when the American people are crying out for help, looking to their leaders for guidance in a scary time, their leaders are....looking right back at them?

And of course the people of America are going to have to play a role in recovery, make sacrifices, and take more responsibility with our finances.

But the gall, wow, the absolute fucking insolence of offhandedly admitting that your party "got away from its principles," but now, in the aftermath, when we need help getting out of the hole you helped to dig, to smugly look us in the face and say "I believe in you." Wow. I'm so upset I don't even think that was a complete sentence.

I keep just angrily muttering "gall," over and over to myself.
