It's still fairly early when Nick and Alya get (back, for him) to his flat from the nexus - it's gradually looking more and more like a home where someone lives, too, worth noting. He drops his keys with his coat and nudges the door shut behind them, steering her toward his kitchen.
Groceries were a good idea, then. (He thinks briefly that whatever he's doing here with Alya might actually be almost as inadvisable as screwing a patient, as Ida thinks he is, but this is not a thought he dwells on. Besides, the two things are entirely separately bad ideas; one of them is worth it, and one of them is a reprehensible abuse of power. Nick is not, as he knows himself, quite that much of a bastard.)
