Cold! Have taken to living in my coat, indoors and out. Surprised at how easily I seem to get cold these days--I used to be almost immune to it, never wore a coat, ran barefoot on the ice, but not anymore.
Went to Philadelphia on Sunday. We saw the Mutter Museum, which was sort of... gross and yet fascinating at the same time. So much can go wrong with human bodies. So many diseases and genetic malfunctions and errors. But it was all presented in an almost artistic way, and it managed to get across not just the accumulation of medical knowledge of these diseases, but also what it must have been like back then, without knowing how these things happened, but still making educated, often correct guesses.
So cold there, though. It took me a good 24 hours to thaw out completely, and my ribcage is still sore from shivering so hard for so long. It was fun, but... I don't know. Cities give me the creeps. I need to live someplace rural.
Musical rehearsals have started. I like singing. Actually, I kind of love singing. I mean, I already knew that, but it's different to be singing in a group, as opposed to singing along with the radio. A lot more intimate. Because even in a group of fifteen, just one voice has an obvious, immediate effect on every other voice. I have high hopes for this thing... everyone's getting involved and excited, and I think the group is going to grow a lot closer over the next two months. I'd be surprised if we didn't--with rehearsals every, single, day, we'd damn well better get used to being around each other.
