Yay! I had a little cooker years ago when I lived on my own and I loved it. My partner and I found a small one on sale at the supermarket (the kind with just a low and a high setting) and I'm so excited to be able to come home to a cooked meal on days when we're busy! Someone recommended this place for recipes so I joined up. Nice to be here! *wave*
I'm writing because I want to be reasonably sure this might work before I try it... I sometimes make mooncakes at home and to make them, I need bean paste. This involves soaking dried azuki beans and boiling them until I can mash them into a soft paste. It is actually a bit difficult to boil them soft enough to mash easily, at least without making a boiled-over mess... I wondered if the slow cooker might make the process any easier. Has anyone ever tried something similar? How many hours should I let them stew in there? Could I mash it in the pot or would it be wiser to move it into a different container?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
