Ummmm, Hi!
Lol if you can't tell I'm not super well versed in LJ, but I saw this comm on spotlight (well done LJ) and thought perfect! some help at last.
I came into ownership of a *mini* (seriously dinky) slow cooker when I moved into my own place and it's woefully under used, mostly because I have no idea what I can actually get away with cooking in it. I don't have an oven, or cooking rings(for frying, boiling etc), though I do have a George Foreman and a microwave that I barely know how to work (power settings/defrost/whathaveyou-no idea) if that helps.
I have tried spaghetti bolognaise so far...with some success (hehe I burnt it slightly to the sides-go me!)
What I'm hoping for is some advice on what can be cooked in it. I've worked out that I can boil the mince in it for the spag bol, but was wondering if there has to be liquid in the pot for it to work with meat.I've worked out that I can do rice and pasta just about, but are there any no no's?
Any recipes that I can substitute some veggies/spices/sauces for others would be great, as I have an eating disorder and chronic gastro problems beside would be gold.
Please please have pity on me! it seems to be the only way I might be able to have a proper cooked meal!
Thanking you kindly for any and all responses,
'Kishi x
