Chunks?

I'm trying out this orange chicken, and my boyfriend decided to cut the chicken up into chunks, rather than leaving the pieces whole. It's been almost two hours, and it already smells great (we added garlic powder)!

How does the chicken being in smaller pieces affect the cooking time? This is a pretty hot-running pot, in that the lower end of time requirements work pretty well.
