this recipe is a combination of a couple of online recipes, my own homemade barbeque sauce, and some tips i've picked up here:) also the pork ribs were on sale:P it seems to be a pretty adaptable recipe, and you should be able to add more or less ingredients dependent on your crock size. i was trying to use my new small crock (maybe 1.5 liters?) that my hunni gave me for Christmas, but it wasn't big enough for everything I had, so i just dumped it all in the bigger one (6 quarts). and no...i am not good at guesstamating. with that said...get ready for some yummy and easy ribs:)
package of country style pork ribs (there were four in the pack i bought, maybe 1.5 lbs)
one onion thinly sliced (i'll use more onion next time)
one apple peeled and cored and thinly sliced (i'd probably add another apple too)
salt, pepper, garlic powder to taste
1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce (you of course can use bottled but i love what my mom always made)
season the ribs and place them and the onion and apple in the crock pot. cook on low 7-8 hours or on high for five. drain the fat from the pot. ( i just dipped out the ribs and the veggies and poured out the fat, then added the yummies back to the pot)
then add the sauce and cook for 1 hour on high.
when i attempted to take the ribs out, they fell apart and were supper yummy and tasty.
the barbecue sauce i make is made from ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and a little butter. i let this simmer on the stove all day as the pork cooked. made it more yummy. it's a bit sweet for some folks but that's your basics there if ya wanna give it a whirl. (or of course change it and make it your own:))
Enjoy:)
