Work...work...work.
Thats all I seem to do nowadays...I d o'nt have time for my girlfriend, my friends, not even myself!
Lindsey has been on my back, making surei get extra work to stay out of his way. But i pop in on him every now and then to see whats up.
Cases have been hard, almost lost one that made Lindsey furious! Had to hold myself back w hen he was yelling in my face to punch him. Told me one more omistake and I was gone.
Couldnt let that happen.
*Sigh* after a long day of work, I head home the way I usually do. I was driving home with the windows down and i heard someone scream.
It was a girl, a young girl of about like 10. I turn t he car around and park it in the alleyway. Where, surprise surprise, a vamp was closing in on her. What she was doing there in the first place, i have no idea.
"HEY!" I shout the vamp turning around
"You'd sink as low as to eat a 10 year old girl? Try eating someone your own size...like ummm lets say me!"
I go twaords the vamp and she backhanded me...I recovered quickly and backhanded her back. As she falls to the ground, I pick up the little girl and set her aside. No way was I losing her.
The vamp got up and said "You're pathetic...saving a worthles little girl??" she stikes me.
I fall to the ground and tackle her as she moves twoards the little girl. "Me? Pathetic? You're theone who can't get a regular person t o feed on!" I smash her head against the pavement and throw her to the alley wall. I pull out my stake under my jacket.
"Let me give you a few words of advice. When you sink asl ow to feed on a little girl, thats when you know it's time for you to die. Buhbye." And she was dust.
The little girl was crying...
"Are you okay?" i bent down and asked her...
"I was scared..." she said and cried more...
I shushed herand brought her to me. "It's alright. Where were your parents? What were you doing out here by yourself??"
"I got lost. We were in the store and i couldnt find my mom." she responded.
Luckly there was an outlet store next door and i took her inside. There was a lady at the desk frantickly asking the clerk if she saw a little girl wandering around.
"MOMMY!!" the little girl shouted as she ran to her. I smiled and started to walk away.
"OH how could I ever thank---" but by the time she started speaking I was gone.
Back to my apartment, to sleep and then get up for another day of work...
