The idea is simple: Google needs to create Google Earth: 4-D.

It would have earth 4.6 billion years ago, all the way up to modern day, placing more emphasis on the time when creatures actually lived on the planet. It would be cool to watch Pangea separate, it would be cool to see dinosaurs, it would be cool to see the devastation the asteroid made. But it would be coolest to watch humanity slowly destroy the world. Starting out as small primates in Africa, evolving, building pyramids, cultivating land, clearing trees, building ships to building skyscrapers. Essentially it would be fascinating to watch it all unfold.

Not only would Google have to consult hundreds of experts, from archaelogists to zoologists, but this program would have to be a HUGE memory whore. If google earth 3-D is already, I can only imagine how much data would have to be there.

Either way, I'm sure it's in the works or at least under consideration.
