first sunday: popular pairings
first sundays of the month are dedicated to reccing popular pairings in yg fandom that we haven't before. below are five fics for you to enjoy that all of us compiled. we're a few hours behind schedule, our apologies!

» a very enjoyable read, witty lines, and great exaggeration of characterization, especially from gdragon, which serves its humorous purpose in this fic. i loved the different superpowers everybody got, and how seungri and daesung were still awkward around each other (though, it stopped as soon as they got to bond over their powers, which was cute).

» one of the few character death!fics i've read that really tugged at my heartstrings. the emotion is heavy and the dynamic not just between gdragon and seungri, but all the members, is heartbreaking. the length also provides almost a tangible concept of how brief gdragon's time really is before he dies. really spectacular.

it took a lot of waiting and wanting and refusing for this.
» great character sketches of all three characters, their relationships with each other, and how the grass is always greener from the other side. unless you're gdragon, of course, in which case it's more like the world revolves around you. the contrasts between top and seungri's sections versus gdragon's in terms of length and content is great.

» web_of_thorns have a talent for writing smut that doesn't come off as random people with your favorite idol's names stuck to them, as so much smut does. seunghyun and jiyong are very much themselves in this fic; their interaction is on point. the unexpectedly sweet ending is similarly gtop-esque, with all of the awkwardness and sniping that that entails.

» this is a nice slice-of-life piece: little physical traits and movements that ring true, a puppy that works as a nice plot device, and fluff (i hesitate to use the word) that isn't too fluffy. se7en's little english stumble was cute and i appreciated that cranperryjuice included it without taking the cheap shot "engrish" route. this ficlet tugs at your heartstrings while still being subtle.
