Happy New Year to everyone. I hope y'all had a great holiday season. Mine was pretty enjoyable, with getting to see the family and the friends back home, and the Christmas haul was pretty impressive this year around. Sleeping on a futon in what used to be my room but is now my Dad's office (complete with outlets I am not allowed to use because they now belong to him...) was a little less than satisfactory, but all in all, I think I'll live.

Being on Bourbon Street for New Year's Eve was quite the experience, and, after several days deliberation, I decided on a New Year's Resolution. I thought about it for awhile, although the idea for my resolution initially struck me as we watched the countdown in Jackson Square, and the inebriated fellow in front of me first tried to try and lie down against me, and then proceeded to spill what I can only assume was absinthe all over my jeans out of a suspicious looking bottle.

I've decided to become more disciplined. It's a broad resolution, because I think the specific ones end up discouraging you. So I'm leaving it very open-ended. Throughout this next year, I'd just like to add a little more order, discipline, and control into my life, whether it be homework, or laundy, or diet. I'm not looking to undergo a humongous change, and come out on the other side of this year as a different person, because in the end, I don't think people can ever really change, they just become better at being who they already are. So, yeah, now it's written down, and I can't get out of it.

The Sugar Bowl was a pretty unexpected disappointment, I'm not going to lie, but Utah played brilliantly, and Bama just didn't. (Although the mystery of the "Utes" remains unsolved.)However, I got to eat a ton of gumbo and jambalaya, beignets from Cafe Du Monde, and I got some major FACETIME during the TV recap of the band's halftime performance. So all in all, the year's been pretty good so far. :)
