Australian Music Month Day 5
Just a drive by post since I managed to upload two songs while getting ready to go out. My friend is starring in the local production of The Importance of Being Earnest, he even grew a big nasty moustache for it, of course I suspect he had wanted an excuse to grow a big nasty moustache anyway.
Tonight's offerings:
Powderfinger - These Days, big Australian band. I don't have any of their albums, but I pretty much like all their songs that I have ever heard. I think I saw them back in the day (uni/highschool), they've had lots of number one songs on our charts. I think this song was Number 1 on The Hottest 100 in 98/99, I can't remember which year. It was whatever year I went to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers tour for Californication. Since I'm sure that's so helpful. ;)
1200 Techniques - Karma, more Australian Hip Hop. These guys are pretty cool, the lead singer (rapper, whatever) used to be on the Tim Tam's ad as a genie (very sexy), and the whole point was that despite his sexiness the chicks would wish for a never ending packet of Tim Tam's rather than wanting him. I've never liked Tim Tam's so the ad particularly annoyed me.
