He didn't so much appear through a door or between steps as from a massive cloud of pink smoke and a shout of 'WEEEEHOOOO!' In fact, steps had nothing to do with it. He rolled out of the post-explosion haze and ended up on his backside, grinning up at the very new surroundings that looked nothing like the labs he'd been working in

"OH!" Hinata managed to jump clear of the tumbling body easily...but that didn't mean she didn't worry! "Are...are you alright sir? You're very pink..."

He's a little blinky, but he still manages to give her a bright, pink-faced smile.

"And strawberry flavored!"

"...oh." she blinked. That...wasn't exactly the response she'd been expecting? Well, he wasn't bleeding at least! "Why are you f-flavored?" she'd take his word on it?

Licking strangers was rude.

"Because that's the drink flavor I was working with today. You'd be amazed at some of the stuff you can find in drink mixes. The chemistry is fascinating!"

[softer_strength]

"You..." she wasn't sure how to even continue the sentence! Chemistry, chemists, they had a very obscure and strange place in Konoha. They made weapons, and more often than not they were very, very secretive.

And this...drink mix?

"You made a d-drink mix explode?"

[slushy_science]

"Actually, I made a combination of several unstable chemicals and the drink mix explode. The drink mix is just the catalyst."

He looked very proud of himself.

[softer_strength]

"Why?" it was probably a very rude question but still, it was the only thing she could think to say! "And...is it s-safe to be covered in it?"

He gave her a beaming smile.

"Pretty much perfectly safe, though I'll probably take a shower soon. And why?"

He started climbing to his feet.

"Why not?"

[softer_strength]

"B-because drinks need to be...drinkable?" she offered, utterly bemused. "Here...h-hold on a moment..." she fished in her coat pocket for a clean bit of bandaging to offer.

"So you can w-wipe your face?" at least?

He beamed at the offer, took it, and started wiping at his face.

"Thank you! I always forget to pack for that. And drinks can be drinkable, but there's all kinds of things you can do with most of them, considering some of the artificial flavorings and the acid content."

[softer_strength]

"A-artificial flavorings and a-acid?" she gasped, shocked at the idea of such. "Umm...t-that can't be very good f-for people!"

[slushy_science]

He blinked.

"There's acid in your stomach. And some in your mouth. Lots of the human body has acidic or basic qualities; on the whole, it's pretty pH balanced, but sure. It's not like it's the kind of acid that eats through plastic or anything. Well, most of it isn't. And not a lot."

[softer_strength]

"Most?" she repeatedly, reaching out to start wiping his shoulders and shirt with another piece of bandage. "Some d-drinks have the...bad acids? And w-what if stomach acid is t-their weapon?"

[slushy_science]

"There's no such thing as 'bad' acids, just more or less powerful acids and even those effect different substances differently," he explained, almost oblivious of her efforts except for the fact that he smiled at her in thanks.

[softer_strength]

"Oh...t-thank you sir. I'm sorry sir!" she offered to the chastisement (light though it was). "I s-still think I'll stick to w-water for a while..."

He shook his head.

"No sorries needed! I just wanted you to know. Chemistry is a lot of fun, after all."
