Skee Ball and 'The Kid'

Sep 25, 2005 20:28

Had the kid's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese today. 8 or 9 kids ended up coming out. They all ended up having a blast. And the best part of all is that I got to turn the kid onto one of her old mans favourite past times.

Skee Ball.

I didn't think she'd be all that into it but I gave it a shot anyways and asked her if she wanted to play one of her dad's favourite games.

"What game is it daddy?" she asked. So I tell her it's called "Skee Ball" and tons of fun. The kid enthusiastically agrees. So we head over. I show her how to roll the balls properly, instead of throwing them. Which is her first instinct. The kid gets the hang of it after rolling two balls and she's off. So much so that she doesn't want to leave the skee ball machines. So we spent a solid half hour or so playing skee ball together. I have to say. It's stupid little stuff like that, that makes my life totally worth while. The kid was a natural. She took to skee ball like a fish takes to water.

I think we'll be heading back sometime in the near future for a few more rounds. Should be a blast.
