Introduction Part 2: The pack returns.

Note: Lumen has been added to the lexicon for the 'physical' world. It's always bugged me that werewolves who are half spirit would not have a special word for the physical realm while they had one for the spirit realm. Lumen means light in latin. The studious would realize I've chosen this word because umbra means shadow in latin. "the lumen" and "the umbra" are now properly being contrasted.

June 13 2006: The pack takes the bus with Sketch to his apartment which they find boarded up. They sneak in through the umbra and look around. They find three people, two guys and a girl, sitting around the upstairs bedroom. After a long discussion, they decide to come up the stairs in the lumen in homid form, leaving Road-Runner behind to come over in crinos if problems start. After the pack goes downstairs, Road-Runner sees the girl dart into a corner and become obscured and immediately decides to alert the pack. She comes into the lumen at the top of the stairs. The pack is at the foot of the stairs when Road-Runner appears to warn them "One of them is hiding in the corner and one of them went under the bed." The pack races up the stairs, many of them assuming battle forms. Road-Runner who knows where the sluagh hid quickly grapples the sluagh to prevent her further escape. The last guy who didn't hide confronts the pack for invading his freehold, when asked for proof that it's his freehold he tells them to fuck off. After a brief exchange of testosterone between the guy, Brian, and Riley, the guy reveals a ghastly visage of white skin, large teeth, and a fireman hat right before biting Brian on the arm. The redcap and Brian have a scuffle resulting in the disembowelment of the redcap. Meanwhile, upon the initiation of hostility by the redcap, Digger who is in lupus form goes under the bed after the last one and then assumes Hispo. Under the bed he sees only an orange tabby which he promptly beheads. Coming back out from under the bed he spits out the cat head.

Trevor doesn't appreciate the carnage and a debate between the pack ensues about whether or not the correct choices were made. Mainly Trevor is concerned that excessive force was used on the changelings. Brian and Marilyn contend that the changelings were a serious threat. The debate doesn't resolve. Before Road-Runner lets the last changeling go, to the shock of Trevor, Trevor makes sure that the the apartment really belongs to Sketch. Sketch calls Road-Block and tells him he's bringing the pack to meet him. Trevor notices that Digger seems to be expressing a strong interest in Sketch's library of books, so he suggests to Sketch that since the changelings had to be killed that Sketch should let Digger borrow some books. Sketch becomes upset at Trevor's 'disregard' of the original deal and threatens to not bring the pack to meet Road-Block. Road-Runner apologized to Sketch (while insulting Trevor), which creates some more inner pack turmoil, Brian reprimands Road-Runner for her harsh words. The situation difuses and Sketch leads the pack to the Twinkie Dragon, a changeling club.

The bouncers at the door choose to not let Brian in because they feel he's at too much risk of frenzy. Everyone else enters and talks to Road-Block. They find him talking to a Nocker in the bar. He tells the pack that they should ask the receptionist at Cloud-Tower to check with him to get in. Trevor and Road-Block then have a private conversation. The pack then leaves the bar and meets back up with Brian with their instructions of how to enter Cloud-Tower. Back at cloud tower they drop Road-Block's name and immediately get temporary IDs and access to two rooms.

After a short time spent relaxing the pack reconvenes to reexamine their letters. The letters now request the pack to investigate Richard's Junk Yard. Wyrm taint has been detected from the area. A map to the location is provided in seven pieces. The pack sends Riley to find some scissors and then pieces together the map. A scratching in heard on the door and the Brian goes to investigate. He sees a husky outside the door and after some discussion the pack decides to let the dog in. The dog of course turns out to be trouble, and after sniffing around and acting dog like for a moment, turns into primus form and leaps out of the window with the packs letters. He bounces back and forth across the alleyway to slow his descent. Marilyn, Brian, and Riley run down the stairs after the fleeing garou. Sparky leaps out of the window as well, falling in primus and then shifting to crinos shortly before impact to slow herself. Road-Runner, Digger, and Trevor try to emulate the technique. Trevor doesn't shift fast enough and hits the ground in Glabro form and suffers significant injuries. Road-Runner, Digger, and Sparky chase after the husky. Trevor starts working to catch up after he regenerates. Brian, Riley, and Marilyn start tracking when they arrive at the ground a bit later. Trevor, Digger, Sparky, and Road-Runner finally follow the husky into a warehouse where he scoots under a jacked-up bus. After he slides under the bus it crashes to the ground impeding the process of the pack. The bus is up snug against a wall, it looks like there's a tunnel past the bus, but it looks like the Husky isn't fleeing further.

The pack pauses as they try to decide what to do next. Digger goes through the umbra to get past the bus. Meanwhile, the rest of the pack catches up. Marilyn shifts into Crinos and pushes the bus away from the wall it's up against. Digger comes back into the lumen next to the husky and tries to take the huskies collar pouch which is holding the letters. The husky, apparently unsatisfied with the force being applied to his collar steps sideways. The pack follows and after some discussion with the husky gets the letters and go back to the hotel.

The pack goes out that night to investigate the junk yard. They poke around in the umbra where they find gnarled darkened trees, and they're confronted by a crow spirit that insists that the trees are fine. The crow abruptly flies off, when the pack follows they see a tree covered in strange seedlike growths. One of the seeds drops and a small quadruped with jagged bony ridges crawls out of the seed. The pack finds themselves surrounded by many of these creatures. The crow drops to the ground and turns into one themselves. The pack dispatches the attackers and then proceeds to destroy all the trees in the area.

After destroying all the trees the pack finds a pool of pinkish liquid with a human skeleton in it where the tree with the seeds once was. The skeleton lunges out at Road-Runner. The pack fights with the skeleton, finding it to be hard to crush, but eventually dispatching it (after Digger falls in of course). After the skeleton is broken apart the pack shifts into the lumen to dig up the ground where the skeleton was in the umbra. Riley stays in the umbra to watch the packs back and sees Richard sneaking up with a shotgun. Riley comes out of the umbra and grabs Richard's gun pointing it in a harmless direction. The pack and Richard have a confrontation involving many threats of police of involvement from both sides. As the digging continues the pack finds a body in the ground. They leave richard tied up and knocked out and make an anonymous call to the police. They then return to Cloud-Tower and have a rite of cleansing performed on them.

June 14 2006: The pack spends the day visiting the city.

June 15 2006: Early in the day the pack asks and receives permission to use the moonbridge at Cloud-Tower to return to Twin-Hooves.
