Neighborhood Fortress

Last night, I attended the meeting about the development around my neighborhood. There was a huge turnout. We don't have a homeowners association yet, so this was kind of a first unofficial meeting. Unless the company building the warehouses decides not to build warehouses there, then there's nothing we can do about it. The city annexed the area after all the zoning was in place, so they can't do anything about it either. A lot of people were adamant on having someone buy us all out, but I don't see that happening either.

I don't really like the fact the warehouses are getting built, but none of them are right next to me. I'm pretty much in the middle of the neighborhood. So, unless the neighborhood starts rapidly decreasing in value, I'm not going to worry too much about it. At least I shouldn't worry too much about it. It's hard not to worry, but there's nothing I can really do about it right at the moment. We are going to have some more neighborhood meetings about the situation.

I just don't want to move yet. My house is brand new. All the houses out there are. The neighborhood is only about three years old. I was going to do some landscaping or something in the back yard. Should I still do that? Probably, just so it won't be bare if I can get someone to buy it in three years. (I want to stay at least five years in the house.)

Ok, I'm rambling. I guess all I can do is wait and see what comes up in these future meetings and try not to worry about it yet.
