Saturday, Beth, her parents, and I went to a fall festival that some Mennonites held to support their school. It was mostly a big auction for hand crafted things, but they also had baked goods and some entertainment for the kids. We took the dogs, which behaved better than I thought they would, but they weren't good at all.
Sunday, Beth and I managed to go to the Memphis Zoo to see their new
Teton Trek exhibit while it's open for the zoo members. It was raining, of course, so we practically had the zoo to ourselves. We got to see the grizzly bear cubs and gray wolves and trumpeter swans. The elk weren't there yet. The keepers said that they still have a few weeks before they can be put into their habitat. We went to see some of the other parts of the zoo, but not much was going on since it was raining. The sea lions had their show, but without the keeper talking (because of the microphone in the rain). I actually enjoyed it better without the narration. One of the pandas was awake and eating, while the other was sleeping. The polar bears were swimming around. And the otters were overly excited to see us thinking that we had food. Everything else pretty much stayed indoors out of the rain.
Monday, Beth, her parents, and I got sick. We're not sure if it's a stomach virus or food poisoning that we picked up Saturday. We took yesterday off work, but Beth is still feeling pretty bad. So far I feel alright. We'll see how long that lasts.
