Anakin's tongue slipped out to dart across his lips; he couldn't deny that he wanted it. That he knew he shouldn't just made it all the more tempting.
"It's not against the Jedi code," Palpatine murmured, "... technically."
Suddenly uncomfortable, Anakin tried to turn it into a joke. "But what about my girlish figure? There are a lot of calories in there."
"You don't have to swallow," Palpatine said.
"Well ... "
"You could just lick the top."
"I suppose ... " Anakin said. He took a deep breath, and reached for the tray of cupcakes on the Chancellor's desk.
