If you do remedy that omission (I won't, because I sort of hate the thought of working with Rose broken and devastated, even if I'd like to think of her doing her best to live with what life's dealt her), you might consider starting before the Wall: what made Pete go to get her? Yes, Jackie begged him, but it had to be more than that. Had he already started to think of Rose as his daughter by then?

In a way, what I'm getting at here is that it's the Doctor, not Rose, who has Daddy issues ;)

Ah, but I'm not sure that I buy that, for Rose at any rate. Yes, the Doctor can console himself that he's been able to give her all that, but is it really what Rose wanted in the end? She chose him over her family. She chose to leave her mum and Mickey and come back to him twice, both times in the full belief and understanding that she'd never see them again. As for money, I don't believe we ever saw her have any particular tendencies towards wanting it, or suggesting that she felt deprived through not having it ( ... )

And, of course, he is the Doctor because he wants to make people better. To fix them. He just doesn't always succeed, or always do it in the right way - witness Jack :(

I do see what you mean about drabbles; they're very short, so nothing really meaty to get into. No story development, as such, and any character development is dealt with very quickly. What I hope to achieve with my drabbles is some sort of insight, though - as you say, an analysis :) And, like you, I love furthering the discussion of those insights and analysis in the comments.
I'm not always as timely as I should be in replying to comments *slaps self on wrist* but I love that, when I do, I do get some of this discussion :)
And thank you for commenting.
