New OT3 community?

I love  better_with_3. It's my favourite community, because it features my favourite ship. But... the moderators appear to have been absent for a considerable length of time. Back as far as the Jack/Rose ficathon on  available_very, no b_w_3 mod responded to messages, and that was November 2007. More recently, I messaged a mod to try to find out if either of the two

I can't do much as far as graphics or coding, but I'd happily help mod.

I like b_w_3, but abandoned comms always worry me. Besides, I could use another OT3 icon.

We've got a lot of people interested in modding! Given the responses so far, I probably will go ahead and set up a new comm, maybe at the weekend, so I'll do some thinking about mods around then.

My thinking is that the new comm could just have a temporary layout, if I can find someone who'd help me put up a simple banner, and then we can do a layout contest, perhaps. Thanks for responding!

My willingness to help on maintaining is an idea that I could do 'holiday' stints for people to take time off every so often. I'd also possibly be interested in running a challenge/ficathon or something at some point :)

Now that's something we'd definitely be interested in - running challenges etc. Once things are up and running, ping us at the 'Call the TARDIS' mod alert post with your ideas - we'll be glad to have members interested in taking the lead on some special events, but obviously will want to discuss timing and other details.

We have three mods, so may be okay on the holiday coverage, but we'll definitely bear your offer in mind. Thanks!

Yes, I think this is a great idea. I'd definitely be willing to help out with running things. Abandoned comms make me so sad.

ETA: Plus, I think there's something wrong with BW3; it always looks weird when I go to it. (Not that I go to the actual comm that often; only when I've just posted and want to make sure it looks okay.)

Yes, the layout's gone. It's been missing for over a week, and since the mods are inactive it's not coming back... That, too, may well send a red flag to LJ that the comm is unmaintained.

I've had this happen in other fandoms -- a comm shift went off without a ton of bumps. I would love a comm with more activities and things.

Yeah, an actively maintained comm for our little corner of ship-dom would be great. I can't really volunteer for "something else really useful," or commit to running anything in particular, but I'm happy to pitch in as I can on stuff. I just am leery of making promises in advance. I'm realistic, let's say . . .

Not committing to any modding or anything, because quite frankly I'm not sure what life is going to hand me in the next couple of months, but I can do some simple iconage and the like if necessary.

I would definitely join your new comm -- WHOO HOO!! -- but can't commit to anything now except being noisy about it; sorry!
