i answered this before looking at this exact same survey i did last year. and it's funny, because some of the things are brought up again (like getting cable. and cookies.). dreams do come true!
1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before? make-em-ups. (improv)
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? i only managed to achieve a few, i'm getting there on a few others, and the rest of them...pssshhhh... and yes, i've already started the list for 2008. i'm very optimistic.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? a few people had some more young'uns but not any of my best best friends.
4. Did anyone close to you die? yeah, unfortunately. my grandpa... 2 days after my birthday :(
5. What countries did you visit? a new one! booyah! although, it WAS wales. and it WAS lame.
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007? a higher salary, a better attitude, and a cleaner apartment.
7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? in general: the first class at upright citizens brigade? mostly because it was the first time i tried something completely new (and i didn't suck), and it was the catalyst for finally making new friends in la and believing that i have other options. specifically: april 9, the day my grandpa died: getting the news from my cousin over the phone and just crying together, and then at the funeral, seeing my grandma say goodbye to him (she was alone and i could see her through the open door). it was incredibly personal and powerful and was the most touching thing i have ever seen in my life.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? i'd say either ucb (and sticking with it for the whole year), or getting my financial act together.
9. What was your biggest failure? my health.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? broke my toe (debatable...), the coachella rash, occasional cold/flu and weird strep fake out throat thing.
11. What was the best thing you bought? it's a tie between my gharani strok filofax, my marc jacobs pea coat, my camera, and my "don't be a jerk" postcard. (best things received?

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? adam's, for the best bday present EVER, my family for being so together, and... uh... javier bardem?
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? seth rogen.
14. Where did most of your money go? into savings. and then to visa. and then, finally, to the united kingdom.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? england trip (and seeing rox again), vancouver, vegas, etc.
16. What song will always remind you of 2007? chelsea dagger? umbrella? i guess anything by spoon, m.i.a., fratellis, the national, or lupe.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? fatter. '08 resolution!
iii. richer or poorer? richer.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? going out with friends. and traveling... though i had my fair share of it.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? going out to eat. it racks up quick, yo!
20. How did you spend Christmas? with my family, and my sweet puppy, making fattigman and abelskiver, playing cranium on my wii and watching snow fall.
21. Who did you spend the most time on the phone with? adam. 5 pm m-f!
22. Did you fall in love in 2007? i fell more in love :)
23. How many one-night stands? i had one 365-night stand...
24. What was your favorite TV program? extras, 30 rock, kid nation, pushing daisies and the soup. and what i saw of mad men.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? probably. but, clearly, i'm so blinded by my hatred i can't remember them now.
26. What was the best book you read? y: the last man was really great, but persepolis was also fantastic. and, uh, "what's your poo telling you?"
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? i didn't really "discover" anything since adam knows about bands before they've even formed, but i finally got into the shins and idolize m.i.a. also, the fratellis and the noisettes were pretty boss.
28. What did you want and get? new filofax. lomography cameras. cable.
29. What did you want and not get? those shoes from las vegas. a new job and/or higher salary.
30. What was your favorite film of this year? no country for old men was ace. i also liked i am legend (i know, i know), persepolis, michael clayton, 3:10 to yuma, breach, zodiac, the lookout, 28 weeks later, and, for making me cry like a baby, lars and the real girl.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? i went to vegas with adam and saw love and stayed in a fancy hotel room and room serviced pizza and a giant slice of chocolate cake late on my bday night. i turned 24.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? a more fulfilling job, or more time off.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007? geek chic? again? i dunno... working a 9 to 5 requires you to be very creative with button up shirts.
34. What kept you sane? my boo. my girlz. my cookiez. and my dvr.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? to be honest, i didn't really have a huge crush on anyone this year, and definitely not anyone new. i'm still hot for steve merchant, primarily.
36. What political issue stirred you the most? for awhile it was who i should vote for, health care and retirement for our generation and the stonings of various women, but i think benazir bhutto's assassination really shook me the most.
37. Who did you miss? my friends, my family, and my grandpa.
38. Who was the best new person you met? my ucb friends!
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007: don't be so hard on yourself.
