I love a good bargain

I bought this cool Prismacolor portfolio on clearance at Michael's. Regularly $29.99, but I got it for $3.00. That's a 90% discount. What a steal!

At the very last minute (like 10:30 PM the night before) I signed the kids up for the next round of ice skating lessons. Of course, the sessions I wanted were full, but thankfully they added two more sessions and my kids got in! They did great. Alexis has advanced to the next level, but I decided to have Christopher repeat the first session, which is great because now he's one of the best in his class! ;-)

I've been practicing knitting. I'm a total novice, but I got a lot done this week -- I finished two scarves. One was nearly finished already and the other wasn't even halfway done. But I think I've mastered knitting, purling, and the garter and stockinette stitches. Now on to increasing, decreasing, gauge, ribbing, and reading a pattern so I can make something more complex. Here are the scarves. My kids have claimed them!

Thank you elemefor all of your knitting help. I owe you an RAK. I actually went to Michael's vainly thinking that I would find the dpns you wanted, but alas, they didn't carry the size you needed.

Having the videos on my iPod also helped a ton. I jumped through a lot of hoops to get the videos on my iPod (including installing and removing software from my PC), but it was totally worth it!

I worked out at three times last week! Yay me! When it was warm, I walked regularly, which was good exercise and may have been helping me lose weight. Now it's way too cold to walk the neighborhood. Then, I joined an exercise program a couple of months ago but fell out of the groove after just a couple of visits (work got really busy so I couldn't get away during the day). But I'm back in the saddle! I got lots to lose (how did THAT happen???) and my health to consider. Gotta do this!

Now I'm off to get tons of work done.

Happy Monday!
