Lots of 2s
After keeping Autumn 2 days, today I am alone and it's very quiet here. I like both kinds of days. The busy and fun days with Autumn and the slow, calm days when I rest after Autumn.
She was a Terrible Two yesterday when we went to Goodwill. I ended up taking her out of the store 3 times because of her behavior. Shoppers were giving me the evil eye and very disapproving looks. But what's a grandma to do? Controlling a 2 year old is like trying to control the wind. As long as Autumn got her way she was happy, but if not, she was VERY unhappy. Why can't she just run wild through the racks of clothing and climb up the shelves? If you asked Autumn, she would probably think I was just a real fun sucker.
Later I looked at our purchases and wondered if the Universe was sending me a message. Autumn had found a cute little wooden truck with the number 2 on it's hood and I had picked up a ceramic tile house number which was also 2. Two items, both with the number 2 on them and a 2 year old! I heard the message as "it's ok. she's 2. she'll grow out of this someday soon".
Later in the day I filled her little 2 ring inflatable pool and she had a blast "swimming" and playing with the garden hose. Shopping might be out for a while but there's so many other forms of fun left : )
