Smoking will be banned in pubs, clubs and other licensed premises within three years as part of a State Government plan to protect hospitality workers from passive smoking and discourage Victorians from taking up the habit.
The bans, to be phased in by July 1, 2007, will spell the end of indoor smoking in all public venues after the Government previously banned smoking in gaming venues, shopping centres and restaurants.
Premier Steve Bracks yesterday said the new laws would also prohibit smoking in covered outdoor areas such as railway platforms, leaving private homes as the last indoor refuge for smokers.
Wow you mean we can smoke in our own home?? How gracious!!!!!!!!!
This spells the end for most nightclubs kids so enjoy them while you can.....
