But not this morning. I'm for bed. Best of luck to the US - it currently appears you'll want it more than ever. But we shall see.

I shall take the risk. My wager is on a Romney victory of between 278 to 295 electoral votes.

At least he seems as if he could run a whelk stall - a capacity missing equally in Cleggy, Red Ed Millipede, and Call-Me-Dave (and of course in Mr Obama).

You may tell me instead, and expect congratulations on yr good sense. I shan't even judge those who vote for four years more of Mr What-Special-Relationship, mind, but I shall be specially nice to those who vote against the sod.

In any case, do vote, you Americans.
