Saw "Underworld Evolution" yesterday, which is kinda apropos given I found a Harry Potter/Anita Blake fanfic on Saturday which I ended up reading for a couple of hours. Needless to say the vampires and lycans have been abundant and completely coincidental this weekend.
I liked UE. I liked the first one also. Most of my friends disagree with me on that one. They don't get it. I'm not a movie critic, so I won't go into detail. I just liked it. I did think it was a bit better than the first one though. Of course, they left it wide open for a sequel and since it topped the box office this weekend and did nearly double of it's closet competitor, there probably will be another installment (probably for as long as Kate can fit into the rubber, huh?).
What I didn't like about the movie was that it was in a small theater. Why in the fuck should Regal Cinemas charge me full price, $9.25 and then put me in a shitty little theater? If they're gonna put us in a reduced theater, we should get a reduced price.
And of course there were at least 2 children in there that were way to young to be there. The family sitting in front of me consisted of dad, mom, and daughter, who was probably about 10. You could tell dad was the one who wanted to see the flick. The girl kept covering her eyes and during the sex scene, dear old dad reached over and covered her eyes for her. Gee, thanks dad! If she didn't dream that night of werewolves getting their jaws ripped off and vamps being impaled by the bad vamp's wings, then she's a stronger person than I.
