So I'm in Nashville right now.
Sitting the lobby of a Days Inn.
Enjoying the Central Standard Time Zone again...
Eventually making my way back to Beaver Dam for the first time in almost a year.
Craziness, right?
I never go back.
But I suppose I have to see my parents at some point.
And my grandparents before they're... well, gone.
Kind of sad to look at it that way.
I'm not really politically minded.
I try to stay out of it.
I figure since I'll never be able to vocally support anyone, I shouldn't get too involved.
But that doesn't mean I don't pay attention.
I just don't rant too much.
But, I'm baffled with the latest poll numbers in Iowa.
Barack Obama and Mike Huckabee are leading.
WHAT!?!?
In my mind, it's a miracle.
Even if the latest poll numbers are only Iowa.
If these two are the candidates, I probably won't vote.
I mean, I just don't feel like I should care that much.
But, it's not that I don't like either of them.
My politics are pretty much in line with Obama.
He seems charismatic, seems to know how to lead, something I believe the country needs.
Someone who can inspire.
"W" isn't doing that.
In fact, he's never done that.
Not that John Kerry or Al Gore would've been any better...
But "W" is not a charmer.
On the other side...
I vehemently oppose Mike Huckabee's politics.
I can't stand him.
Pro-Life.
VERY religious.
But you know what?
I like the guy.
I really do.
Watching the republican debates...
He should be their candidate.
He's intelligent.
He's charismatic.
He's basically a whiter, more religious Barack Obama.
Just wait to see how this gets screwed up when the vote that counts happens in November.
Mitt Romney or Fred Thompson will be on the Republican ticket.
Both men have no idea what they believe in.
So yeah.
I had a funny story yesterday at work.
This guy and his girlfriend beat down a would've been car-jacker.
Awesome stuff.
http://www.wbir.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=52002&provider=topThe video version is there too...
It's not award-winning, but I got a few laughs out of it.
Anyway...
I suppose I should get going.
Hope all is well.
