Sometimes the excessive cost of shipping gifts between continents is a good thing. As is a sense of humor. Humour? Either way, I enjoy my new extended family...
Cash-laden holiday card from Sarah's uncle, aunt, and cousin, paraphrased slightly, conclusion verbatim: "Blah blah blah happy Christmas et cetera et cetera. Too old for pressies, please buy cocktails."
Very floofy card from Sarah's mother: [For A Special Daughter-in-Law] "I'm sorry. I couldn't resist. I promise to never do it again."
And on the home front...
Successful Saturday: latkes, dreidel, and candle-lighting, followed by Christmas light tour of Medford and
that house in Saugus. (Last weekend's tour included
the one on the Arborway.)
Successful Sunday: Baby shower, followed by two hours on (or waiting for) public transit, and Miracle on 34th Street double header, including surprise guest Twin [and other less surprising but just as exciting people].
Successful Monday: Housewife = awesome. I should have gotten one sooner.
