...coming home from Medford Saturday!
It was SUCH a lovely day today. Lovely and warm. Exactly the type of day for a leisurely drive in country with the sunroof down. However, lacking countryside, I opted instead for redemption of the free car wash coupon I received in congratulations of my "new home." And with the sunroof down, showtunes blaring (I love "Standing Room Only" on WERS), I prepared to make a left turn onto the highway. Alas, there was to be none of it, because the light turned red. So I stopped. As did the truck driver behind me. But, funny thing about that, he didn't stop soon enough. But I made sure he stopped. Or rather, Tanya did. Poor Tanya. Boom. Squish. And that was the end of Tanya. The bumper and the trunk, to be precise.
The good news is that not only is the weather warm enough to air out the house (finally) but it's also warm enough to air out the back of the car. And thanks to the man driving the sausage truck, there are plenty of new openings for the air to flow through. Guess she's not getting that free shower today after all.
So that's the story of how Tanya got run over by a sausage truck. Next week we take her in for an estimate and then I go to work and reprimand the alumnae office for printing the wrong address on top of the column telling people to be sure to send class notes to the right address. Will the excitement never end? Hm, maybe after my two-weekend stint as a chicken. March 5-7, 12-14 in Davis Square. Hopefully Dom's Sausage Company won't be providing refreshments.
