She's a Wickedly Silver Wicked Witch made by Tonner.
I was so disappointed with this doll when I got her. I don't know what I was expecting, but somehow, she was just not very exciting. I said on my favorite doll message board
(DollyGoLightly) that she is such a grownup lady doll. My friend said she looked like a green business woman.
See what happens when I redress Mehitabel. Exclusive pics behind the Ljcut!
On the plus side, she is very photogenic. My online doll friends encouraged me to try her in some different clothes. I asked
dollsahoy for some 16" capri pants, thinking they would be for
Milou, but they transformed Mehitabel! I got some great pictures and became much more friendly toward her.
The capris are to die for. I crocheted the top. Please don't smoke. Doll does not inhale.
This doll is supposed to be the Wicked Witch from the Wizard of Oz, but she clearly bears no resemblance to Margaret Hamilton in her movie makeup. Tonner cannot bring themselves to manufacture an unattractive doll or even a doll with an evil expression. During a recent discussion of doll villains on Flickr, one woman said she had no villain dolls when she has a Wicked Witch and Cinderella's wicked step-sisters, all made by Tonner. They just don't come off as being that bad. Mehitabel's expression is positively serene.
Shown here on Mehitabel are not only Capri pants, but other outfits by
DollsAhoy I have been meaning to get pics of for the longest time. The clothes she sent me have been critical to my enjoyment of this doll. I can't thank you enough, A. This bolero is inspired and looks great on the 16" girls.
The four photos that follow are exclusive to my LJ blog and not seen elsewhere (for a few days anyway).
