Random Rambling Update

So, to fill in a bit of the stuff I've managed to miss putting down here. The weekend of May 17th, my folks spent a couple of nights, and had talked about taking me out to look at cars, but that didn't happen. We did plant some geraniums in my planter boxes and did a few things around the house.

Memorial weekend I purchased my car and I've posted some other things about that weekend including Indiana Jones and whatnot.

May 30th my folks arrived for my Mom's 50th 8th grade reunion. It was a K-8 catholic school and all of them were together pretty much from K through HS at the local Catholic Schools in Portland. They had a great time and stayed over at my place til Sunday afternoon. Went to dinner with my parents and 3 of my mom's friends at Acapulco Mexican restaurant.

Friday, June 6th was my parent's 44th Anniversary. My brothers and SIL came up and we went out to dinner at Montage, and dessert at Pix Patisserie. All in all a good time, and our presents were well-received. Turns out in the "modern traditions" that groceries are the gift for that anniverary and we mixed it up with a gift card to Costco, one to Fred Meyer's and a few neat kitchen items. I found a ice-cream scoop in the shape of a whale that was really cute, an avocado slicer/scooper and some nice Kitchen Aid bag clips. One of my coworkers (my carpool buddy) chipped in tix to the Oregon Ballet Theater Russian themed ballet performance, so that is what my folks went and did while I was at an HOA meeting at the library (instead of the usual location at my house).

Sunday June 7th, Mom & Dad and I headed out to Bridgeport Shopping Center for a movie day. Mom and I went to see Sex and the City with my birthmom and her friend N. I ended up liking the movie more than I expected to, and my Dad got to enjoy seeing Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on his own. Afterwards we all went out for coffee at the Starbuck's nearest my work and had a lovely chat.

Monday was an eye doctor appointment for my parents and the plan was that they would spend the night at my brother's house in Corvallis prior to business they had down there. Monday about mid-day I got a call that they were spending Monday night as well.

So many days of overnight visits with my parents really took it out of me. At least my Mom and I got more flowers planted and they cleared out some of the clutter in my computer/library/crafting room which is a helpful first start.

I'm planning on enjoying a nice weekend on my own again this weekend and heading out to a MeetIn movie showing downtown - seeing The Happening and then going out to mnemosyne9's grad party open house later on Sunday. Should be fun.
