Sunday Update

Sunday was filled with hanging out with P, my birthmom. One of her neighbor's was having a birthday party out at Edgefield, and her hubby isn't into foofy things, so didn't want to be her date. When she arrived, we went for coffee at the local Starbucks (where we first met IRL) and chatted for a while.

Next it was on to the party. We found a great parking space, and arrived just at the end of the speeches. They were handing around champagne for the toasts and there was plenty of food left. I had a lovely ham sandwich, watermelon, grapes, honeydew melon and canteloupe. I also had zucchini slices and carrots with an amazing dip. We were seated with a former neighbor of P, and some ladies from the Portland Iris Society. I had lovely conversation with them about France, travel and more, as they are avid fans of the Tour de France!

Finally the party was winding down, so we bid farewell to the guest of honor and her daughters, and took a walk around the grounds before we left. P had never been there before, so she really enjoyed seeing the herb garden, the glass blower's studio, the outdoor eating areas, the distillery, brewery, wine cellar, Little Red Shed, golf course and all the other amenities out there.

Aftewards we headed to Fabric Depot, near my place where there was an outdoor sale in full swing. I got some gifts for my mom, some pillow forms, extra pins, and P bought me a couple more fabrics for pillows. I'm going to use one of them for placemats too I think, it should be fun.

All in all it was a lovely day, and I had a great time and managed to avoid getting a sunburn!
